NBA is back!
Look, I know what you’re thinking, and you’re right. The Tigers BLEW IT in the World Series, my prediction was wrong, blah blah blah. I’d rather not talk about. And since this is my blog, what I would like to talk about is opening night in the NBA (which was last night – Jazz, Kings, and Raptors is tonight though, and I’m enjoying it! Not to mention the solid “Lost” episode I just watched).
Sometimes these Raps announcers make me laugh – Leo Rautins and Chuck Swirsky. They’re REALLY prone to exaggeration at times, and they make some absolutely ludicrous statements: <after Bostjan Nachbar squeaks in a weak dunk> Leo: “OH LOOK AT NACHBAR AS HE SLAMS IT DOWN!” Chuck: “Oh, he’ll do that to you every time if you don’t watch out, a lot of people think of him as just a pure shooter, but he’ll hammer that ball down in your face every time if you give him room…” or “Are you kidding me?! Kris Humphries was the great STEAL of this summer’s free agency!”. These are actual things that were said tonight! Let’s just be reasonable guys. I love Chuck and Leo anyway, and always enjoy watching Raptors games thanks partly to their great banter, so I guess I shouldn’t complain. It’s just that with the way they talk, Shaq could go off 20/20 from the line tonight, ‘Sheed could go the rest of his career without a technical foul, and the Atlanta Hawks could win it all this year, and we’d all be idiots for not knowing this already! When we’re at the ACC in January, I’m gonna go talk to these guys. Or maybe Ian will just yell at them “HOLD HANDS!”

Maybe Ian will wait till you’re talking to them and then yell at them to hold hands.
