Prenez-garde monsieur, prenez-garde!

Oh back to school, back to school, to prove to Dad that I’m not a fool!  Since I’ve been banished to Atlantic Canada, I decided a great use of all my newfound free time was to enroll in the Canada School of Public Service french class.  I’m just going two evenings per week, and it’s been going well.  I’d say I remember way more than I thought and probably could’ve started at a more advanced level, but I liken myself to our old friend Billy Madison – I have to get through all the french levels, starting at the beginning, so I can take over my department, and stop that weasely Eric!

3rd Grader: Hey look everybody, Billy peed his pants.
Billy: Of course I peed my pants, everyone my age pees their pants. It’s the coolest!
3rd Grader: Really?
Billy: Yeah! You ain’t cool, unless you pee your pants!

Old Farm Lady: If peeing in your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis.
Billy: That is the grossest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Let’s Go!

Anyway, I’m no Sol (http://www.rickstv.com/tvo/parlezmoi.html - he’s a francophone clown who starred on many a CBC 10-minute short film (1979-1980ish) where he taught us the wonders and beauty of the basic french language), but I’m learning and remember a lot of the french I took in university.  C’est vraiment la langue de l’amour, n’est-ce pas?

Sol Remember that time Sol met the ghost?  Or the burglar?  Or the gambler?  Jim?

  1. Jim Says:

All I remember about Sol movies was that weird electronic noise going “Bwaom bwaom bwaom bwaaaom!”

  2. Jeff Says:

Holy smokes! There’s 90 episodes of Sol??!! How do we not have the whole collection? Also, that theme song would make a great ringtone.

  3. Hey, that WOULD be a good ringtone, we’d be popular with the francophones! Let’s make that happen!
